Mobility in our society, socially and physically, mobility in the brain, flexibility and creativeness, mobility in the individual, tolerance and openness, mobility in the work of Erich kaestner, multimedial and timeless, mobility in museum, universal and intercutural, mobility in life, work and play.
This year our micromuseum® created for Erich Kaestner will celebrate its 10th anniversary.
Erich Kaestner will be 110 years old . Our museum has grown over the last 10 years from a drawing to a museum that is now a member of the German museum society. It was hard work to get this far but for all the readers of Kaestner in germany and throughout the world we are happy to say we have achieved a lot of what we set out to achieve. This great success of course would not have been possible without the help of all the sponsors who have supported this ambitious project. Therefore I would like to thank all of you out there, BIG and SMALL, YOUNG and Old in the name of our society for your generosity in financing this original cultural project.5 years ago we started a Erich Kaestner festival to celebrate our and Kaestner’s birthday in February. The festival themes have been taken from the pictograms I drew in 1998 to depict my museum philosophy. There are 15 pictograms, all fragments, micro pieces of the macro whole. We started in 2004 with the “monolith” followed by the “Time Machine” in 2005, the “Trojan Horse” in 2006, “Building blocks” in 2007 and “Globality” in 2008. In recognition of the important 10th birthday we have chosen the symbol for “Mobility” a symbol of great importance for our modern society. It is also the symbol we use for our museum logo to emphasise the freedom and independence of thought and of our house. The interactive mobile micromuseum® is 10 years old!
